All About Brigham

My son was born December 28, 2011. He's going to be my life project for, well, life. But for the next year he will definitely be my main focus...so why not capture a little part of each day. Hope you enjoy!

January 15, 2013 - And Life Continues

Well, I kind of miss doing my blog a day because I know that the days rush by and it can be weeks in between entries.  But I really want to try to keep up with this because I know one day Brigham will love it!  My life as a busy mom continues and Brigham is growing up a little more every day.  He is just catching on to new things all the time and it makes me feel like he is learning something new literally every day.  He is crawling all over the place and loves going up stairs.  He still hasn't figured out how to go down all by himself, but we were practicing at Hill's the other day and as long as I turn him around and get his started, he will go down the stairs.  He is becoming a big copycat.  Joe was doing fake sneezes with him in the tubby tonight and he would copy and do these little fake sneezes.  He claps for us all the time, and he will point to his nose when we ask where it is.  We just got a second car seat for Joe's truck and Brigham feels like such a big boy.  He loves being able to see out!  He was "dancing" in the truck all the way to the store tonight, and then we were singing on the way home and he started copying us!  I get so excited for him when he starts learning new things.  There's all the not so fun stuff that he has to learn too.  We just got rid of the bottle, and the first morning he got a sippy cup instead of a bottle he threw a full on tantrum.  Didn't think that would start so soon!  He is learning that he can't have everything that he wants, that he can't bite mommy, and that he needs to use a "nice voice" instead of just freaking out every time he is stuck/something doesn't work/he wants something/anything else!  It breaks my heart sometimes, but I know that we have to teach the hard lessons along with the fun things, and I think we are doing a pretty good job.  Joe and I certainly aren't perfect parents, but we love him and we love each other and we seek God's help, and through all that, I think we are getting by a little better every day!  I love my Joe and I love Brigham more than I ever thought possible.  And so despite the sleep deprivation and the endless laundry and the dirty floors, Brigham is the best thing Joe and I have ever done!
