August 28, 2012 - Shopping with Dad

We had a busy day today.  Went for a walk with Hill and the kids this morning.  Mom and dad came after lunch and so when Brig woke up Dad took Ethan and Brigham for an ice cream.  So much fun to be hanging out with a Pop-pop.  I got the night off to go to the temple while Kaitlin took out her endowment, so it was a boys night at home.  Joe took Brigham shopping at Home Depot, and he LOVED the cart!  What a happy little guy!

August 27, 2012 - All Alone

 

 

 

 

 

Brig and I just stayed home today.  We went for a big walk in the morning.  It is starting to be our routine beause Brig gets a little crabby in the morning but there's not a whole lot to go and do.  Another thing Brigham is into these days is feeding himself.  He's just starting anyway.  It's pretty cute.  He makes quite the mess, but I just can't resist this face!  We went and got groceries this evening while joe worked on the garage...again.  I can't wait until this thing is finished...but I am pretty proud of all that he has accomplished.

August 26, 2012 - Recovery

Brigham had a rough night and I was up early barfing my guts out for no good reason, so we slept in and almost missed church.  But we made it there and picked Ethan up to get him out of their hair for a few hours.  Hill and Mike had us over for dinner so we did a little visiting, but we were all pretty bombed and got to bed early.  Joe and I watched the Hunger Games for a little date night.  I was exhausted, but I did manage to stay up through the whole thing!

August 25, 2012 - Crazy Day!

 

Well, Hill was still in the hospital, so I slept over at their house and woke up early with Ethan.  He had a good night but I just didn't sleep well.  Joe brought Brig over in the morning and it was me and the boys for the morning.  Mikael brought Jaye home and I came back here for the afternoon and we worked outside with Joe.  Brig got a rocket ship ride in his bumbo.  The first time he was all smiles so we grabbed the camera, but the second time he didn't seem so into it!  I spent the rest of the day back at Hill's but she did get home late that night.  Lucky thing too because Jaye was not fooled and she knew I was NOT her mommy...and she let me know about it too!

August 24, 2012 - Ethan Buddy

 

 

Well, the weekend went downhill for Hillary and she ended up in the hospital, so we had Ethan with us quite a bit.  Joe came home early on Friday and so we all went to the park.  Daddy dressed Briggs and doesn't he look cute?  Ethan had such a good time at the park and we got a slurpee and swedish fish on the way home.  Pretty good day for a little guy!

August 23, 2012 - Back to Reality

 

Well, last night was Brigham's first night back at home in a while.  And I've had it with the waking up in the night.  So last night was no more waking up!!  He actually did really well, only woke up once at 2:30 and I think only cried for a few minutes.  I put in the earplugs and just slept through it all.  I feel amazing today!  So we had to get back to real life and put the house back together. Brig and I did some cleaning and he was a good helper!  We went for a walk and he did a good number on a little apple as well.  I guess those little chompers are good for something after all!

August 22, 2012 - Finally Home!

It was so good to go and visit with mom for a few days but with Brigham being such a crab, it was nice to get home and back to routine.  The house was dirty and I had tons to unpack, but I just let it all slide.  I went to Hill's for a bit and then I slept while Brig had his afternoon nap.  Then Daddy got home and he let me have the night off.  I had a nice long bath and then we went out for groceries together.  It was so nice to see our Daddy and be home in our little house. 

August 21, 2012 - Long Day at Gramma's

Well, Brigham has been getting up a lot in the night and he has been pretty cranky during the day and we haven't really been able to figure out why, but it has been frustrating to say the least.  I haven't gotten a whole lot of sleep and mom helps out a lot, but Brig is so HUGE, it's hard for her to carry him around!  So we came up with lots of things to try to keep him happy.  Lots of walks, hanging out with Pop-pop and swimming in the sink!

August 20, 2012 - Hanging out at the Lake

 

 

Well, Dad went golfing and to cut grass today, so after Brig's nap, mom and I were pretty bored, so we took Brigham out to the lake for a swim.  He gets a little stronger every day and so he did way better in his floaty than a month ago at Bear Lake.  He loves kicking his little legs and eating the eyeballs!  We also did a couple of dunks, which he wasn't super impressed with!

August 19, 2012 - Tired Little Guy

Well, we tried really hard with Brigham today but it was still tough for him to get a good nap.  I didn't go to church with mom and dad in the hopes that Brigham would have a good nap in his bed at home.  Not to be.  He only slept for an hour.  He had a little snooze on the way to Drumheller, but not much.  He was pretty cranky at dinner and so we only stayed for a few hours.  Joe drove me home and then continued on to Edmonton with his parents.  Sad to see him go, but it is always nice to have a few days with my parents.  Look at my pooped little guy!

August 18, 2012 - Dino Museum

 

Went out to Drumheller for some Suelzle family stuff.  Everyone met at the Royal Tyrell Museum.  We were there first so went did some exploring outside.  Then we went through the museum.  Not that exciting.  I've been there a ton, but the older kids liked it.  Then we had a picnic at the park and Brig played in the river.  Then we went back to Jacob and Krymsen's for dinner.  The kids played around and Krym and I got a chance to chat.  I took Brigham home to my parents for bedtime but Joe stayed to visit. 

August 17, 2012 - Packing and Driving

Normally when we go away I clean the house, but I wasn't coming back for a few days and so I knew it wouldn't be clean when I got home anyway, so I left it.  Brigham and I had a lot of time to play in the morning.  He is sure starting to move around and is getting himself stuck in all kinds of places.  He is such a cutie!

August 16, 2012 - Cousins came to Play

 

Hill and I were both pretty bored by 9:00AM, so she came over for some play time.  Poor Ethan has to find something somewhat interesting to do while we visit and entertain the babies!  Brigham was so bored he was falling asleep in my arms!  We had a good visit though.  Again, I love that I have my sister here to visit with and get through the days with!  Brigham also LOVES cups.  He has a few sippy cups, and he likes drinking from our cups and water bottles. He doesn't really know what to do after he gets the liquid in his mouth and usually ends up spitting most of it out.  But we'll keep practicing!

August 15, 2012 - Play Date!

Another busy day today.  Due to some scheduling conflicts, I had to leave Brigham with my friend Peggy for a couple of hours today.  He had such a fun playdate with his little friend Sawyer.  I can't wait until he is a little older and can actually play with him.  Then we went and spent some time shopping with gramma.  He's been such a good little guy to get dragged around so much these past few days when he really doesn't seem to be himself!

August 14, 2012 - Big Boy Sitting Time

Today was a better day.  Brigham had better naps although he was still quite grumpy when he was awake.  We went and hung out in Home Depot in the morning, and we went to the library and walked the mall in the afternoon.  He seems to do a little better if he can be kept busy, but I'm not sure where this grumpiness is coming from!  He did some sitting time with dad today and he did so well we were really surprised at how long he could sit up for!  What a big boy!

August 13, 2012 - Holy Grumpy Pants!

Brigham was a beast today.  He cut his second tooth on Friday/Saturday, and so I thought he would be a little happier by now.  But he was a crab form start to finish today.  He didn't even have much for naps.  By the time Joe got home, I had just about lost it.  Forturnately, Joe is a great dad and a better husband and so he gave me a little break.  After we got Brigham fed, we went on a little date to Ikea to occupy our little man until bedtime.  He had a good time and I was able to find my sanity again!

August 12, 2012 - Tired Boy

Well, Brigham was a big boy today.  He stayed awake all through church.  5 hours of awake time in a row.  And he wasn't even really grumpy.  But he fell asleep on the way home and was OUT like a light.  Usually he wakes up when we get him out of the car, but he was zonked out.  Such a cute little sleeper guy!

August 11, 2012 - Big Work Day

Joe had to spend a lot of time in the garage working to get things done.  So Brigham and I decided to spend some time outside too.  We did some jobs together while Brigham was awake.  He likes to sit in his backpack too and watch things.  I spent a lot of time while Brig was sleeping working in the yard.  With Joe working so much on the garage, we've let the yard go a bit.  I also spent a lot of time cleaning up the garage so Joe could actually do some work!  By the end of the day the yard looked great and so did the garage.  Brig was such a good little trooper!  After tubbies he was playing on the bed with the laundry and ended up like this...he is all BOY!

August 10, 2012 - Date Night!

Joe and I went on our first real date with a real babysitter and no set time to be back and everything!  I've been able to go out a little here and there while Joe watched Brig, but it was so nice to be out by ourselves.  Joe even brought me flowers!  We went a saw a movie and got an ice cream and went for a walk.  It was so nice to be a couple and not parents for a few hours.  A big thanks to Katie and Bobby who watched my little teething nightmare!  But look at that cute hair!

August 9, 2012 - Playdates Galore!

We were a busy bunch today.  Hillary had planned a playdate so we went to that this morning.  I tried to keep him up a little longer for the rest of our schedule but he only napped for an hour anyway!  Mom never gets to win.  But I had a good time visiting with other moms.  Then we came home and stayed up for a little bit and he had another nap.  I didn't think we would make it for our next playdate, but it turned out okay.  So we met Erin, Tammy, Hill, and Nancy at the spray park for our second play date.  It was a lot of fun and so good to hang out with friends and just visit.  Today was one of those days I used to dream about when I was at work.  And Brig has a new girlfriend.  Then we came home and spent some time with Daddy, had a catnap, and made it to bed just a little late!  Such a good boy!  I love being a mom and I love being HIS mom.

August 8, 2012 - Playday

Another day that seems a little long.  Poor Brig's tooth is just driving him nuts, and therefore, me too.  He was up for an hour and a half last night.  He just gets so worked up and then when the tylenol kicks in he's still crabby.  So it takes a bottle to get him back down.  Anyway...Hillary came over this morning with the kiddos for a visit.  I am so glad that she is so close.  After naps, Brig and I went and hung out at Home Depot.  Very cool I know.  But he just gets bored in the house...and I can't go somewhere that costs money everyday!  We had some noodles for supper and that was a hoot. He had such a good time and was a little laugh for me and Joe.  Joe worked in the garage again tonight, so it was just me and my babe...again.  I can't wait for the garage to get done so I can have my hubby back...and my house!

August 7, 2012 - Swimming

Well, Brigham loves the water and I am trying to take advantage of the nice weather, so this afternoon we went swimming at the Queen Elizabeth Pool at Kinsmen.  It was fun.  I decided to go at short notice so nobody was able to come with me.  But Briggy and I had fun by ourselves.  He has been pretty crabby the past couple of days because he is cutting his second tooth.  The first one went a lot easier.  So we're trying to find lots of things to keep busy.  But I took a ten minute timeout tonight because the screeching was a little too much. Good thing we have a good daddy to take over sometimes!

August 6, 2012 - Holiday Monday

It was so nice to have Joe home again today.  I wish daddies didn't have to work so that we could always have them home, but then I suppose that would get old too.  Joe let me sleep in and got up with Brigham.  Then Brig and I played this morning while Joe worked on the garage.  Around noon we decided we still needed to have a bit of a holiday so we got everything ready and went downtown to Heritage Days.  It was super hot and so it took a little wind out of our sails, but we saw a few different things and Brig and I sat in the shade while Joe ran around and got some food to try. 

August 5, 2012 - Making Muscles with Dad!

Well, we had a tough night last night so it was a bit of a lazy day around here.  We sent to sacrament meeting, and being the long weekend, there was nobody there, so we came home after the meeting so that Brigham and I could get a good sleep.  After lunch we went to the spray park with Joe so he could see some of the fun things that we do during the week.  Brigham loves it there.  He is such my water baby!  I love it.  We watched a movie together after Brig went to bed and then even got off to bed early.  A couple of tired parents around here today!

August 4, 2012 - Shingles

Today my dad came up and Joe and Dad got the shingles done on the roof of the garage.  They worked really hard and it was super hot out.  Brig and I went for a walk to Sobeys to get a few groceries.  It was really hot, but he was happy most of the way.  I spent some time out in the garden chopping back my gigantic pumpkin plant.  After all the work was done, the boys got a little reward and we went to the driving range for a bit.  Joe got a few pointers from dad.  Brigham was good for most of it, but after a while, he was ready for bed.  He is such a good boy.  Usually if it's nap time and we aren't near a bed, he is pretty easily entertained for a while.  He loves to laugh and explore new things.  I am so lucky to be his mommy.  I get told all the time how cute he is and what a happy baby he seems.  I sure hope so.  I try to have as many happy moments in the day as possible!  A busy day for my guys and they were pretty tired at the end of it all.

August 3, 2012 - New Toys

Yesterday we went to Costco and I bought an awesome pack of foam blocks for Brigham.  He doesn't quite get it yet, butI think they will be an awesome toy in the near future.  We also went with Daddy to pick up some more stuff for garage.  He likes riding in the truck because he gets to sit in the front seat and see everything going on.  Joe spent a while in the evening working on garage stuff so it was just me and my boy again.  One day thing garage will be done and I'll get my husband back!

August 2, 2012 - Costco and Golfing

Brigham and I went to Costco this afternoon to get some formula.  $200 later I walked out of there.  It is impossible to spend less than $100 there, I swear.  After work we met up with Hill and Mike and the kids to go to the driving range.  Dad got the grandkids some mini golf clubs and Ethan was so excited to go try them out.  He did lots of "waps"  with the driver and had such a good time.  It was adorable.  I am so glad to have my sister so close, especially now that I am home with Brig all day,  Then we went to their house for a BBQ.  What a fun night!

August 1, 2012 - Friends For Supper

Luke and Pam came for supper and a movie tonight.  It is a lot of fun to hang out with them and I really like Pam.  She seems pretty down to earth.  We had a good BBQ and then watched The Adjustment Bureau.  Kind of a weird movie.  But we had a good visit and Brig got to see some more of Luke and Pam.  He also sat in his high chair some more today.  He is getting better at eating bread crusts and he loves his brocollis!  He is even getting better at eating his food in his chair.  We usually have his "meals" in his little bouncer, so he's used to relining, but he is growing up everyday!

July 31, 2012 - Cousins

Hill came over today with the kids cause she was bored by 9:00.  I know the feeling.  It's hard with newborns cause they don't do anything.  And it has been super hot with lots of mosquitos so you can't really just head outside either.  I built Ethan a little toilet paper roll rocket that he loved.  I can't wait until Brig is older for fun stuff like that too.  And little Jaye is just adorable.  Such a cute little squish face...almost makes me want to get pregnant again...almost!  Brigham is also getting better at eating in his chair.  He loves to make a mess in there!
