June 30, 2012 - MORE GARAGE!

Another day working on the garage.  The boys were up and at it early.  I made them a good breakfast, got a bunch of snacks ready, and then I went back to bed with Brigham.  He's still waking up in the night and is up at 6am, so I don't really get more than 3 or 4 hours in a row.  So we had a good nap.  Had to take a break to move the shed to Hill and Mike's, but it all got there in one piece, so that went well too.  The garage has come a long way in the past two days, but there is still a lot to do!  Good thing tomorrow is Sunday and we can have a break.

June 29, 2012 - GARAGE!

Well, we started building our garage today.  My dad came up last night and they got started early this morning.  My boys worked pretty hard and by the end of the day the walls were framed.  Looks pretty good so far.  Brigham and I worked on feeding them and keeping things clean.  Not sure the clean part worked out too well.  I made jerky last night and so I spent a lot of time cleaning the trays.  I was a pretty tired girl at the end of the day too, but I am sure proud of my boys. 

June 28, 2012 - What a Busy Day!

Spent the day just doing jobs and getting ready for our big garage building weekend!  I mowed the lawn and worked on the yard this morning.  I love my little garden, though things aren't exactly growing all over the place!  Then Brig and I went and met Daddy for lunch.  It was fun to see him in the middle of the day and visit for a bit.  My little guy fell asleep on the way home!  I emptied out the shed this afternoon and we played at the park and got ready to finish up our day.  I'm one tired little momma!


PS. Brigham is 6 months old today!  Agghh!  Where does the time go?

June 27, 2012 - Messy Boy AGAIN!

Well, this little guy loves to eat, obviously, but he loves to play with his food too.  Today we tried raspberries in his smash bag.  So cute.  Then we went shopping for garage stuff with daddy after we had tubbies.  I always used to look at people with babies out in the evening and think they were such irresponsible people.  Now I realize that "babies" don't go to bed at 7:00.  Hahaha.  I actually love taking Brig out in the evening because it keeps him occupied until bedtime.

June 26, 2012 - Happy Birthday Ethan!

Well, aside from all the birthday celebrations, it's Ethan's actual birthday.  Happy 3rd Birthday Big Guy!  We had a pretty easy going day.  Went to Costco with mom and spent way too much money!  Brig has another little cold or allergies or something, so we just relaxed a little.  Lots of naps.  We took down our back fence yesterday too so that we could get ready for the garage!  All in all a good day.  Finished up with some supper and blueberries in his smash bag and a cookie for dessert.  What a messy little boy!

June 25, 2012 - Daddy's Home!

Well, Joe was supposed to get home sunday night, but due to some flooding and highway closures, they didn't get home until Monday morning about 2 minutes after we woke up!  It was so good to see him.  Brigham was all smiles!  Joe stayed up with us until naps and then we went shopping with my mom.  We tried to find her a wedding outfit for Kate's wedding, but no such luck.  So lots of shopping for nothing, but it was nice to hang out with mom.  Then we just spent the evening together and enjoyed having our little family all back together again!

June 24, 2012 - Sunday

Another day with no Joe Daddy.  He ran his tough mudder race yesterday and we were thinking about him lots.  He said it was really fun and really tough!  I saw some pictures and I can only imagine, although I am considering it for next year!  My mom slept over last night because she was here for the shower, so she came to church with me.  Brigham slept through the night and slept in until 8:00 this morning, so he made it through sacrament.  We came home for naps and then went to Hill's house for a little family birthday get together for Ethan.  Came home and had supper with Kate and Bobby and then Birg just chilled in his jumper for over an hour!  He is such a good little boy.  I love him with all my heart and I love being his mommy!

June 23, 2012 - Baby Shower

Well, the day I have been working for all week finally came!  The baby shower!  It turned out so well.  Everything I planned came together, even if I had to do things a few times over!  Ooops!.  But Brigham was really good for me during the day and Katie came and helped a little and it all came together splendidly.  I was super happy and I know that Hillary had a good time.  I wanted it just to be so special for her and so I am glad that it was!

June 22, 2012 - Cleaning!

Today we got the house ready for the party!  Lots of house cleaning and some decorating and organizing.  Brigham likes to hang out in his bouncer or on the floor most of the time.  And he's still rolling all over the place.  Gets himself stuck in all kinds of places!

June 21, 2012 - More Running Around!

Well, I finally realized the baby shower is this weekend and that I haven't done a whole lot. So I started planning and gathering and I think it is going to be great.  Unfortunately Brig gets to be my little sidekick.  He has been very patient! We were practicing sitting today.  More like bending!  He did okay, but not too strong yet!  Joe left for Whistler tonight for his tough mudder race.  So sad!  I miss him already!  Can't wait for him to come home but I am glad he's having a good time! 

June 20, 2012 - Wednesday...

Didn't do a whole lot today.  Did some running around for some of the baby shower stuff.  Brigham was up SUPER early and so his whole schedule was messed up.  But we made it out a bit and got some stuff done.  Hillary was gone to mom's so I didn't have my buddy to hang out with.  Brigham is starting to like tummy time more, but he gets tired pretty easily.  Especially today!  Usually he just screams once he's on his front and done holding his head up, but today he just gave up!

June 19, 2012 - Service with a Smile

Today Brig and I went out to do some service.  There is a mom in need who doesn't have any stuff for her nine month old.  There was a lady in my moms group kind enough to donate a bunch of stuff.  So we went for a drive to pick it all up and then we spent the morning cleaning it all and getting it as shiny and new as we could for the mom and her boy.  Such a rough story she has, so it always feels good to do whatever you can.  I found this cute little hat in the mix...not sure if Brig likes it!

June 18, 2012 - Sleepy Day

Monday always seems to be a day to catch up.  On naps!!!  Brig was up a little early and Joe fed him a bit and then we hung out in bed for a bit.  After naps we went out and ran some errands.  Brig is still in love with his jumper so he spent some time in there again.  And then we are always glad when Daddy comes home!  I met him today at the post box so we could get Brigham's passport.  Joe got his renewed as well.  So I put Brig in the stroller and off we ran.  Didn't feel all that great but I am trying to exercise a little more these days!  Then we drove home and Brig got to drive the last little bit.  We like to meet Joe in the alley while we wait for him to get home on nice days so it has become our little tradition!

June 17, 2012 - Happy Father's Day

Today was Joe's first Father's Day...and Brig's first too I guess!  We got Joe a new big toolchest for Father's Day.  He had been saving up for it and pestering me about it, so I tried to convince him we couldn't afford it and then went to some major sneakiness to get it set up and in the yard on Sunday morning.  He was so excited.  I put a vinyl saying in it that said "Some people don't believe in Heroes, but they haven't met my dad".  I loved it.  We had a picnic at Joe's parents place as well.  It was a good day for my boys!

June 16, 2012 - Happy Birthday Ethan!

Hillary and Mike had an awesome birthday party for Ethan!  Hillary did a Curious George theme and she did such a good job.  All the little kids had a lot of fun and Ethan was the all out best birthday boy in the world!  I took my camera and got some great shots...even a few of Briggs!

June 15, 2012 - A Bath...A bath...A Bath!

Our Briggy boy sure loves his baths.  I can't believe how much he loves to splash around and swim laps in the tubby.  He could stay in there for hours, but the water gets cold.  I can't believe how much he is growing up.  I took him to get weighed today.  18lbs 8 oz.  What a chubber.  One of our friends has a girl about 2 weeks younger than Beig and they said sometimes they think Char is too chubby...but then they see Brig and they aren't worried!  TeeHee!  As long as he is healthy, I am totally happy.

June 14, 2012 - Growing Boy!

Well, Brigham is growing like a weed.  He is 26 inches long now and just a huge like chunk.  I love it sooo much!  I've tried to take this picture once a month, but so far I made it at 6 weeks, 4 months, and 5 1/2 months.  Oh glory...he's a growing boy!

June 13, 2012 - Bye Bye Gramma

Well, Gramma left this morning.  So sad.  I love to have her visit and I love having her see Brigham grow up and all his new little discoveries.  Brigham was sad too!  We got Joe's tool chest out of Mom's car and somehow managed to put the beast in Scott's shed.  It is huge...and HEAVY!  Brig sat in the stoller and watched us while we chased Jagger around to tie him up and then haul this thing into the shed.  What an ordeal!  But Brig was a good boy for me.  Then mom left and brig and I just hung out for the day.  He's my little super guy!

June 12, 2012 - Another Busy Day

Gramma has been up for a few days and so we have been having fun hanging out with all the girls.  Hill and I have been busy coming up with stuff for her house, trying to find ways to revamp all her old stuff because she can't afford to get any new stuff right now.  It's fun to be creative.  Brig has been on solids for a couple of weeks now.  He's getting better at eating, but he's also getting more adventurous, in that he wants to be IN his food.  Makes for a messy boy at dinner time!

June 11, 2012 - Sick Boy

Well, the croup has turned into a cold.  My poor boy has had a bit of a fever and a runny/stuffy nose.  He was pretty stuffed up when he woke up and we tried to feed him.  It's good thing his Auntie and Gramma were here.  I was basically suffocating him trying to feed him.  He was so stuffed up!  So I ran to the pharmacy to get the nose hoser and hilly did it for me.  Brigham was NOT HAPPY.  Ethan thought it was pretty funny until we suggested we do him.  So we had a bit of a rough afternoon.  But he settled down in the evening and we went for a nice walk while the sun was out and daddy was home.  He sure loves to be outside!  We had Sawyer over for a bit and then our home teacher Dylan came, so it was a busy and fun day, even with a sick boy!

June 10, 2012 - Birthday Party!

Well, Brigham woke up super croupy this morning.  He's never even really been sick before.  So he and I stayed home from church so that he could get a good nap.  We had a nice relaxing afternoon and we were able to have a nap with dad this afternoon.  We went for a walk in the evening and tried out Brig's new backpack.  We bought it last summer and he is just the right size for it this summer.  He loves it and even falls asleep in it!  Then we went over to Rem and Peggy's for visits and birthday cake. Good old uncle Rem is 29 years old.  I sat there thinking, man, he's old.  And then I thought, wait, he's not that much older than me.  And then I thought, oh yeah, I'm 28!  Hahaha...we had a lot of fun, as you can tell.  We sure love our friends!

June 9, 2012 - Painting

Well, Hillary and Mikey got their house painted today.  Dad, Joe, Bobby, and Mike painted all day.  Hill and I played with the boys!  We went out to the greenhouse and I finally got some flower for the rest of my beds.  Mostly my front bed.  I was worried it was going to be bare for the whole summer with all the other work we've done on the yard.  Brigham had a crummy nap in the morning, so he was falling asleep in the car, chomping on his little chewie.  So cute!  After naps we did some more playing and then we went over to see the job and have some dinner.  Made for a loooong day for our guys, but they did a really good job and the house looks great!

June 8, 2012 - Another Day at Hill's

Mike took the day off to get the house ready for painting, so Brig and I went over to help.  I'm not sure we were a whole lot of help, but we went and hung out anyway.  Mike couldn't get the closet shelf out and I had done the one in Ethan's bedroom so Hillary called me over.  So there was the 3 of us looking at this shelf and banging on it and talking about how we could get it out.  All of a sudden, Ethan puts up his finger and says "A tool!"  Duh. What were we thinking!  What a good helper.  And Ethan loves my camera and is becomming quite a good little photographer.  He likes to take a lot of pictures.  Brigham has also found his feet.  He loves to grab his little toes and roll around!  I love all the things that he is learning every new day!

June 7, 2012 - House Cleaning

Being at Hill's for a few days I didn't get a whole lot done around my house, so this evening Joe and I got a lot done.  He mowed the lawn and then had to go to Young Men's.  I cleaned the house and Brigham was really good for me and was pretty happy.  I came around the corner with the vacuum and found he had rolled himself over twice and was now under the coffee table!  My little man is on the move!

June 6, 2012 - Shabby Chic

Today Hillary and I revamped some of her frames to go with her new house paint.  It was a bit of an adventure as I haven't done a while lot with that kind of stuff, although I look at it online all the time.  So we sanded down the frames, spray painted them and then roughed them up a little for that shabby look.  Then we painted it with a matte spray finish and it crinkled all in the sun.  Didn't really mean for that to happen but it turned out okay.  So they look really cute and she's happy with them.  Brigham wasn't so happy while we were in the backyard.  It was a little cold that morning.  So Hillary found him an awesome hat and he wasn't too thrilled about it! 

June 5, 2012 - Dollar Store Date

Had a boring morning so we went and met Hill at the dollar store for a date.  Nothing exciting.  I went over to Winners as well but couldn't find anything good there.  Some days all seems an exercise in overcoming boredom. But I love my little guy and we have such a good time together.

June 4, 2012 - Catch Up Day

Well today was just a catch up day from being gone all weekend.  Got the house put together and went and got a few groceries.  Nothing too exciting today.  No other concerns, nothing going on.  Hence, Brigham is lounging.  Actually, this is his new "trick".  He crosses his ankles and straightens out his legs and then snaps his legs apart!  Very proud of himself!

June 3, 2012 - Drumming with Pop-Pop

Brig got to spend a few minutes with Pop-pop before we left for church today.  My dad is so cute with his grandkids.  Brigham seemed to really like to drum.  He's slowly starting to pick up on reaching and grabbing.  Slowly but surely!

June 2, 2012 - Rodeo

Went down to Drumheller today for Abel's blessing.  There was a little rodeo nearby so we all went for the day.  I don't think Brigham was all that impressed!  But the kids really enjoyed it and it was good for me to have to work Brigham around a little different schedule.  It's hard with only one kid because I can always work around him.  I am sure by the time # 3 or 4 comes around it won't be a big deal!

June 1, 2012 - Road Trippin'

After work, Joe came home and we headed out for Elnora.  We are planning on driving down to Utah at the end of July to see Jordan and Alisha.  So we're trying it out to see how things go.  Brigham seems to like his new seat much better, and he sleeps really well in it.  He gets a little fussy now and then but for the most part he seems to do okay.  Now let's times that by 10 and see how well 20 hours of driving goes!  teehee

May 31, 2012 - Busy Day

We started out our busy day with some snuggles in mom and dad's bed.  My little monkey is drinking a lot less since we started solids, so after a few ounces he's a pretty happy boy in the morning and we get to hang out a little before daddy has to get ready for work and we have some cereal.  Then today we went to the park with Calverts, Harveys, and Hill and Ethan.  What a fun morning.  It was way hotter than it looked outside and I have now developed a little allergy to the sun.  I get a nasty little rash all over anywhere the sun gets to.  Started when I got pregnant and is apparently sticking around.  Goody.

May 30, 2012 - Crackers!

My little man is eating like a beast.  And he kinda looks like one too.  He is such a chubby little guy I can hardly believe he was once in danger of starvation!  Hahaha...not any more.  He loves to munch on his hands, so we've gotten him some little rice crackers to occupy him when he is a little fussier.  Makes a huge mess, but he is so darn cute! 

May 29, 2012 - Face Wash!

My little monkey has slowly started on solids over the past week or so.  He does pretty well after the first few bites and he realizes he's supposed to be eating.  He likes peaches and isn't such a fan of bananas.  Peas go okay, chicken, not so much. And that's about all we've tried so far.  Squash is next...yeah!  He makes a pretty good mess, but look how good he is at cleaning up!

May 28, 2012 - 5 Months Old!

Oh my goodness.  Where does the time go?  My little man is 5 months old today.  I can't believe it.  I see my friends new little babies and think that he was never that small.  His daddy seems to think he is a lot older than he is though.  Look at these crazy boys!

May 26, 2012 - Playing Outside!

We've been spending a lot of time going for walks in the evenings and playing out on our new grass.  I love our little backyard and can't wait for Brig to enjoy it a little more.  For now, Daddy just enjoys bigging Briggs!

May 25, 2012 - Daddy Time

Brigham is usally pretty interested if there is something on the computer, although, oddly enough, he doesn't care that much about the tv. I play little songs on youtube for him and he is mesmerized, until the 3 seconds it takes to change to the next one.  Then he gets really mad and fusses until the next one comes on!  I love that Joe is such a good dad and will take over for me when he gets home.
